Position Description

Family Care Center, a premier behavioral health treatment center for the Colorado Springs area, offers treatment for those dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, and co-occurring substance use disorders. Our therapists also offer family therapy and marriage counseling. We have certified Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) therapists who provide group therapy for adults, middle school, and high school aged populations in a comprehensive DBT program. We are also one of the few locations that offers DBT-C for children. We have registered play therapists to treat children as young as three years old. We offer medication management and Trans-cranial Magnetic Stimulation. At current, Family Care Center focuses on military families and veterans, but provides services for the community at large.

The Physician Assistant will conduct and complete initial psychiatric evaluations including clinical risk assessment and treatment recommendations and provide follow-up care. This will include ordering and performing diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, interpreting associated test results for deviations from normal baseline, and providing follow up treatment plans. Additionally, the Physician Assistantwill prescribe, administer, and review medications for assigned clients. They will regularly monitor side effects of prescribed medications as well as provide clients with information necessary to make informed consents.  The Physician Assistant will act in coordination with the clients’ care team ( psychiatrist, pharmacist, caregivers, case managers, and therapists) to ensure continuity of care.   

  

  • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Active state of Colorado Physician Assistant license
  • DEA and DPS required
  • Mental Health experience – one year required
