Clinical Director - Master in Physician Assistant Studies Program
The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) at Florida International University (FIU) invites applications for the position of Clinical Director in the Master in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) Program. The MPAS Program is currently accredited for 10 years with a present enrollment of 45 students each year, with plans to grow its enrollment to 60 students per annual cohort. In this role, the Clinical Director will oversee all administrative processes for the clinical phase including site development, clinical site monitoring, and accreditation processes, and will review all clinical phase remedial instructions and processes. The selected candidate will also oversee instructional assignments consistent with HWCOM policy and procedures and will provide course instruction for all courses assigned. The Clinical Director will implement teaching and evaluation strategies appropriate to students, courses, and settings within the clinical phase; engage in curriculum updates and development, including evaluation related to new and existing courses; assist in all accreditation activities; provide and oversee the schedule of office hours for student advising, tutoring, remediation, and consultation; and meet with advisees to assess academic progress and learning goals and to assist those encountering academic difficulties.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program and a master’s level degree, current NCCPA certification, a Florida Physician Assistant (PA) license (or be eligible to obtain a Florida Physician Assistant license at the time of hire), at least one (1) year of academia experience, and relevant clinical experience. Preferred qualifications include prior experience with ARC-PA accreditation, prior managerial and leadership experience, and three (3) years or more experience in PA education.
